The I-15 / I-215 split is why Murrieta shows up in our admissions notes more than its population would suggest. Families coming from Temecula, Menifee, or Wildomar often meet at LLUMC Murrieta first. We are the next residential step when a hospital discharge is appropriate and a bed is open — not a replacement for that ER.
Clinton Keith, Los Alamos, and California Oaks are ordinary suburban streets. Withdrawal is not. If benzodiazepines or heavy daily alcohol are involved, do not treat a home taper as a plan. Independently licensed clinicians decide whether a residential stay is safe; we do not write those orders ourselves.
Murrieta is Riverside County. Medi-Cal placements still go through RUHS – Behavioral Health Access. Commercial PPO plans can be verified by our team with name, date of birth, and member ID. We will not pretend a PPO check is a county Drug Medi-Cal authorization.
If someone needs a locked psychiatric unit or ICU-level monitoring, we refer out. If they need a quiet residential setting with 24/7 staff and a discharge plan into ongoing treatment, that is the conversation we can have today.

Questions from Murrieta
- Can we come straight from LLUMC Murrieta?
- Often yes, if the hospital says a residential setting is appropriate and we have a bed. Bring discharge papers if you have them. We still complete our own admissions conversation.
- Is this closer than going to Orange County?
- For most Murrieta families, yes. An OC campus is a 91 slog. We are one freeway north on the 15.
